Tips and Tricks

[Getting Started]  [Above and Beyond]

Sign up for a free e-mail account
This is the most important recommendation that you are going to find on this page. Even if you have an e-mail account already, you are going to want to sign up for another free one. To keep things simple, I recommend getting an account with a similar name to an existing one (one number or digit different). My favorite free account is Hotmail because I have not run into any issues with emails being deposited into a junk filter. I have in fact, turned off my junk e-mail filter for this account to not have to worry. The reason you need a separate amount is because of the amount of mail you can expect to receive if you are going participate in paid to read sites. Most of these programs can deposit 15+ emails a day, with that easily topping out 200+ if you belong to many programs. Please note that if you go on vacation, you will want to vacation those accounts so your e-mail does not become flooded.

Sign up for a free PayPal account
Before you also start registering for programs, I would sign up for a free PayPal account. There are a few other payment processors out there but in the 5 years I have an account open I have no complaints. The people and PayPal and their services are very good and even better...are free. Many Survey, Shopping, PTR, etc. programs give payments via PayPal. This is great because if a check option is offered you will be waiting weeks to months for payment. Generally with PayPal I have found this to be in the region of days and then 2 days to transfer any balances you want into your checking or savings account.

Set realistic time and earning expectations
If you are someone who just wants to fill out the occaisonal survey here and there or a few more a day...you can expect to not need to spend much time with this at all. Checking your e-mail once a day will more than handle the survey traffic you can expect to get joining every survey program on this website. However, if you are someone who wants to venture into the realm of "clicking" then you need to figure out how much time you want to put into this. If you decide to become a "clicker" each program will generate about 5-10 minutes of work a day if you go through the emails and the clicks available on the website. If you decide to join more programs, you need to mulitply this by the number of programs you join. Being an active member of every program that I mention on this website, I spend at least 2 hours a day keeping up with all of the e-mails and websites I work with. This does not include the promotional time I spend for this website or the programs I am a part of. Whether you spend a few minutes a day or more, it is important to understand that your income level is equal with the effort you put in.
